SEC-MALS
Size Exclusion Chromatography with Multi-Angle Laser Light Scattering (SEC-MALS)
SEC-MALS is performed using M-Scan’s GE Ettan HPLC system equipped with UV, MALS: Treos and Refractometer: Optilab rEX (both Wyatt Technology Corporation) detectors. The combination of UV, Refractive Index and MALS allows the determination of the amounts of aggregate (usually up to at least tetramer) present in a given product.
AUC and SEC-MALS provide a reliable set of orthogonal data to allow an assessment of aggregation state of a biopolymer product in solution.
