SEC-MALS
Size Exclusion Chromatography with Multi-Angle Laser Light Scattering (SEC-MALS)
SEC-MALS is performed using M-Scan’s GE Ettan HPLC system equipped with UV, MALS: Treos (Wyatt Technology Corporation) and Refractometer: Optilab rEX (Wyatt Technology Corporation) detectors. The combination of UV, Refractive Index and MALS allows the determination of the amounts of aggregate (usually up to at least tetramer) present in a given product.
AUC and SEC-MALS provide a reliable set of orthogonal data to allow an assessment of aggregation state of a biopolymer product in solution.
